Kinja'd!!!

Found this one while clearing out my Downloads folder. All I can think to myself is, “Those were simpler times.” This photo was taken in spring 2016, but it somehow feels like an eternity ago. A lot of things have changed since then. When I look at photos of my cars — bookmarks in my life — I often think, in my weaker moments, that it would be nice to turn back the clock just a little bit. The car itself sometimes having almost nothing to do with that feeling at all, other than acting as a simple timestamp.

I started law school in ‘94, but I unloaded my ‘91 CRX Si in ‘93. It had less than 15K and was absolutely stock. I could have parked it in my mom’s driveway in MD and gone up and driven in once a month (went to GW in DC). Talk about simpler - you could do any repair (as if it needed any) with zip ties and an adjustable wrench.

I’m already getting all nostalgic for college when I see a picture of my 4Runner or see a second-gen on the road. The truck’s been gone barely two months and I haven’t been out of college for a year but I guess the rose-colored glasses are already coming out
